Capturing Image of Fingerprint with Biometric Sensor
Capturing Image of Fingerprint with Biometric Sensor:
We are using Biometric technology in many of our day to authentication systems. In this article I have considered that reader is familiar with biometric technology, so I am not explaining basics of biometrics.
In this article we are going to discuss how capture and save IMAGE of fingerprint using fingerprint scanner, in biometric attendance system or biometric access control system which you have been using for day to day authentication purpose. For that fist of all we will see how your biometric fingerprint based attendance system authenticate your fingerprint. You might remember first day when you started using biometric attendance system. At that day your admin or anyone who looks after to this system had taken fingerprint samples of yours. This process is registration of fingerprint in device. that was registration process. By which image of fingerprint (fingerprint template) was scanned and stored in memory of your attendance system. Later on whenever you place your finger on that scanner system compares it with all templates which are stored inside. If it matches with any one which is already stored success record will be generated and stored in non volatile memory of system. which is simply your attendance record for that date. At this point you may think, it’s very simple download template from attendance device and save it to PC. But it’s not that simple. Reason behind that is, your attendance device don’t compare images it compare some numerical codes which represents your fingerprint template. As it consumes more memory and more CPU resource, attendance devices doesn’t stores images of fingerprint but they generate unique numerical code for every image they capture. And compare those codes for faster authentication. Now we come to point”how to save image of fingerprint then?” Most of the devices support image capturing function. To use that function you need a simple tool which may be available in downloads section of your device vendor. Or you have to search for it on manufactures website. Other way to capture and save template is you can go for low cost USB fingerprint scanner which directly saves images on computer which it’s connected to in BMP or JPEG format. You may ask me for support I have got ready tools for same purpose. You need to know manufacturer and model number of your device.

Access control system
Now days it’s very common to install access control systems at commercial, corporate, educational premises to control access to limited and permitted personals only at desired premises. For example if you have office of say 2000 sq foots. You want to ensure none of your customers enters where you RND unit is, but door of unit is just beside of you entry door. Solution for such and similar situations is to put access control system at that door.
Access control system name suggests the system. This system commonly has got three component. Those are controller, readers, lock, and most important verification device. Variation mechanism may be RFID or Mifare card reader or fingerprint.
Controller is brain of access control system. It stores all required data, it verifies data, control door lock even communicates with computer for data interchange. It has got key pad and display user-friendly operations. In most of the cases you can program controller from your computer. Now days, it’s very easy to program it using GUI provided by manufacturer. TCP/IP protocol is used for communication for most of available controllers. I.e. one LAN cable from any of data I/O port from your network. You have to set up IP and other network parameters in controller. This set up is to be done using keypad and display on controller. Access Controller has inbuilt real time clock and small battery which retains time and date of device, even when Access controller is power off. There is an arrangement on it to connect card reader and lock.
Readers are the input devices for access control system. They don’t process any anything there work is to forward whatever the read using inbuilt sensor. If we talk about RFID card reader, it reads RFID card in its range (range of normal RFID card reader is 4 to 8 centimeter). Sends corresponding card number to controller. If it is a biometric fingerprint reader it scans fingerprint image and sends it to controller for verification.
Locks are electromagnetic locks which we generally see at any ATM door. This lock works on electro magnet principle which we have studied in school science. Mechanical arrangement of electromagnet and Still armature strip provides great strength of locking. These locks are classified according to their power. Generally used electromagnetic locks are of 600 Lbs. if 600 lbs electromagnetic lock is installed properly on wooden door of 1.5 inch thickness. Someone tries to open door forcefully, in that case door will break but lock wont fail. I want to convenes these locks are really good enough to restrict entry or exit from desired premises.
We will see more about fingerprints, RFID Cards, Mifare Cards and more advance functions of Access Control System in next article on same website same category.

Labor Contractors Issues While Calculating Attendance.
Each production unit gather the workers from some labor contractors, and this contractor is not able to provide same person daily in the same factory, labor contractor always changes the workers along with factories.
And company always facing the problems with this issues, Attendance India have the solution on this big issue of workers and their contractors.
We have a time attendance system which works with RF Cards or with Smart card.
User capacity of this device is 10000 users and transection memory of that device is 50000 transection, means lots of people can be store in the same device.
If a contractor providing 50 workers to company then that company may issue 50 cards in the name of that contractor and maintain those cards to security cabin or towards the security guard.
After calculating 50 workers he have to punch those cards in that time attendance system, so their attendance get marked, and if worker changes then also it will not affect on the monthly attendance sheets of company.
For more details about the mentioned Time Attendance System who resolves labor contractor's issues kindly visit http://www.attendanceindia.com/Employee_card_punching_system_rfid_card_reader_pune_india_low_cost.html
All of our devices contains one year warranty.
